Last night at 21.26hrs, we received a request from our friends over in North East Wales Search & Rescue (NEWSAR) for members to assist them with an on-going search.

The team responded this morning and left base at 7am to travel to Colomendy Outdoor Centre where NEWSAR are based to be ready for an early morning briefing.

Michael Pae went missing last Tuesday and hasn't been since. The police, family and friends had become really worried about him as the time has gone on and the search has been concentrated on the Moel Famau area and the associated hill ranges.

The team were deployed at first light and with all routes and possible paths searched before moving onto dense vegetation and woodland to be searched.

At lunchtime a second wave of members came in who joined NEWSAR members on the ground searching hillsides, water courses, dense woodland and marshland with even some left over snow!

The search team was stood down in the evening for the search to be revaluated. Sadly the next day the body of Mr Pae was found and our thoughts go out to his friends and family.
