Along with Rossendale and Pendle MRT we were contacted at 16:00hrs by Garry Rhodes MBE, Team Leader of Bolton Mountain Rescue, to offer assistance in the search for a missing 66 year old male who was missing in the Wardley area.

Whilst making our way to meet at the RV point we were temporarily stood down at 16:49 as new information was received by the police. Within a short amount of time the search was resumed and after arriving at the RV point at 19:00 teams quickly deployed to search Clifton Moss. The search areas were completed by 23:45 and all teams were stood down as the missing person had not been located.

Bolton MRT’s trailing Dog Handler and his trailing dog, plus a SARDA Air Scenting Dog and Handler from Rossendale and Pendle MRT, and seven Bolton MRT supporting team members were on standby to resume the search in a specific area the following morning but the missing person was located outside the search areas. We were asked to remain on standby should more resources be required.

We would like to thank Bolton MRT for their generous hospitality.
