Training at Delamere

This Tuesday saw the team practicing its search and water rescue skills in Delamere Forest. For this evening we were joined by the Lord-Lieutenant of Cheshire, Mr. David Briggs, M.B.E., K.St.J.

Mr. Briggs was welcomed by Chairman Robbie Davies and accompanied during the exercise by Team Leader, Simon Lane. The training involved locating a lone male who was known to have been training for an endurance event in the forest. As the scenario unfolded he was able to see our search dog Izzy find the missing person in a deep bog, the water team rescue the 'misper' and finally transfer to stretcher and a carry out.

Prior to the start of the training Mr. Briggs presented an award to experienced member James (Jim) Oliver, thanking him for his ten years' service with the team.
